Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically mixed family. Both her parents have both been English. She grew on a south London council estate, and at the age of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. In her time at the school, she performed in numerous stage plays, including the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe got her start in acting through a short film called Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as appearing in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe also played the lead character in How to lose friends & make people feel alienated, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. Some of her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes prior to being cancelled on The CW. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After being a regular for the first two seasons, the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe would depart the series following an appearance as a guest in the pilot episode of the third season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also had a role alongside her on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, is a member of a big family in Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played baseball in summers and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley did not have the ability to walk but she was able to dance. At the age of two, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in the love. It was then that she discovered Ashley's interest in dance. Ashley participated in the top divisions in jazz, tap hip hop, ballet Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre as well as pointe until the time she completed from high school. She was crowned the top individualist in all the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
